Choosing CAM TOOL for Makino Machines

The relationship between CAM-TOOL and Makino goes back many years in Japan. The partnership has evolved so well that the two companies have developed products together that are only available with Makino Machines.

  • CAM-TOOL can output the data to be used for the Makino collision safeguard. This allows Makino machine the ability to have the stock, part and fixtures all imported into the Makino control to do real time machine simulation all with the click of a button while posting. This works in addition to CAM-TOOL machine simulation internally in the software to ensure there will never be a crash when running your 5-axis machine.

  • Makino Machining Time estimate allows you to set up CAM-Tools interface with all the parameters of the induvial machine controller. Once this is set it allows more accurate machining time estimates as it is accounting for the parameters in the control to take account for accel/decel and any other options that have been added to that machine.

  • OM inspect function – This is a CAM-TOOL function that can drive a probe in your machine. The Makino controller can export a report from the control using the data generated from CAM-TOOL OM inspect function.
